Called a genius on the banjo and slide guitar, Tony Furtado creates his own musical interpretations - a hybrid of Americana and indie-rock. Since living primarily on the road for the last two decades, his songs gregariously share stories of his travels in engaging musicianship.

American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Lydia Ramsey, conveys the wildness and free nature of the great northwest in her songs steeped in fingerpick-guitar rudiments of folk music.

Malian guitarist Habib Koité is one of Africa's most popular and recognized musicians. Inheriting his passion for music from his paternal grandfather who played the kamele n'goni - a traditional four-stringed instrument associated with hunters from the Wassolou region in Mali, Habib Kiote takes a unique approach to playing guitar. He tunes his instrument to the pentatonic scale and plays on open strings as one would on a kamele n'goni. At other times Habib plays music that sounds closer to the blues or flamenco with a restrained and intimate singing style that varies cadenced rhythms and melodies.

mainstage must see ~ Kim Virant & Gerald Collier

In the early nineties, Kim Virant's charismatic vocals echoed through Seattle's music scene as her band, Lazy Susan, routinely sold out shows on the rock venue circuit.

Over the past 20 years, Kim has taken a musical journey transforming her from rock band frontwoman to singer/songwriter focusing on an alternative-country/rootsy guitar-based sound.

Meanwhile, a similar journey was unfolding for the Best Kissers in the World's vocalist/guitarist, Gerald Collier. In 1995, with the disbanding of rock band Best Kissers in the World, Gerald Collier ventured on his musical path solo refashioning himself as an alternative country singer songwriter. 

Kim Virant, joined by Seattle-based songster Gerald Collier, will perform live on Saturday, January 25, at 8 PM at The Triple Door. Tickets available here>>

Celebrate the King of Rock n' Roll on what would be his 79th birthday weekend with Country/Americana artist Vince Mira singin' your favorite Elvis Presley hip groovin' tunes.

Lisa Marie Presley lyrically bared it all to a sold out crowd on our Mainstage last night. Her smoldering alto voice resonated with history and boldly showcased her songs about lost love, heartbreak, growth,and rebellion. All the while, Lisa Marie Presley was looking as gorgeous as ever...

Holly Williams and Lydia Ramsey ~ May 7

Last night, at The Triple Door, was a night of story-telling melodies. 

The night began with Lydia Ramsey. Pacific Northwest to the core, Lydia Ramsey's voice sounds like what tip-toeing across a Puget Sound shoreline feels like. Peacefully melodic in nature, each guitar strum was reminiscent of home - a place you've already been and could always be. Lydia songs, of light-hearted longingness, floated through the room eloquently. With recordings said to be set to release this year, this won't be the last time Lydia Ramsey will play our stage.

Holding a Neil Young autographed guitar, Nashville native Holly Williams charmingly delivered the rest of the night's audibles. Sharing songs of her travels overseas, her mother's unmeasurable grace, and a tragic car accident she experienced with her sister, Holly Williams' songs were angelic and emotionally powered. The room was silenced in awe.

Joining Holly Williams, on a selections of songs, was husband and writing collaborator Chris Coleman. They performed a few songs including the boot-kickin' tune, Let You Go- a collaboration Holly mentioned they discovered in her husband's "Man Shed."  With playful love in their eyes, Holly and Chris' chemistry was contagious. 

The stage was left ready to be tucked in and sweetly kissed goodnight. 

Super Jam Plays Squeeze

New Wave is coming to the Mainstage for Super Jam Plays Squeeze on Friday, April 12th, at 7:30pm!

Super Jam will perform every song from Squeeze's 1982 hit album "Singles 45's and Under," plus many more Squeeze favorites. "Singles 45's and Under" gathers a dozen of Squeeze's classic power-pop hits into one platinum collection. It represents their prime -- from Chris Difford croaking out "Cool for Cats," to Glenn Tilbrook chiming "Annie Get Your Gun," to Paul Carrack crooning "Tempted."

Including members of Apple Jam, Lucas Field, and 80's Invasion, Seattle based Super Jam will bring authentic live renditions of this signature pop album to our stage with, what we like to call, world-class musicianship and showmanship. These guys won't let you down. 

Members of Super Jam include:

Rick Lovrovich (lead vocals, bass) - Rick is the founder/frontman for the world-renowned Beatles tribute band,  Apple Jam. He is also a member of The Beatniks, Craig Terrill Band, and Herding Cats.

Jakael Tristram (lead vocals, guitar) - Jakael is a producer/artist from the indie soul band, Lucas Field. He was in Apple Jam's original line up, and produced their recorded catalogue. He also plays with Hit Explosion, BrandX, and U Rock.

Shane Peck (drums) - Shane is a composer/producer. He also plays with 80s Invasion, Laguna, Lusy, Johnny Astro, Poland, and The Nines

Mark Romanowski (guitar, backing vocals) - Mark is a composer/multi-instrumentalist. He also plays with Poland, and Johnny Astro

Mark Zyla (keyboards) - Mark has played/toured with a variety of musical acts, including Soul Kiss, Darren Mottamedy, Gloria Weems, and Hannah Michelle Weeks

A lil' Q&A ~ Susanna Hoffs

It's not everyday an album, combining the sounds of 1960's simplicity with 2012 sophistication, delivers authentic, feel-good vibes. However, with the debut of Susanna Hoffs' long over-due newest discography addition- Someday, this is the case. We chatted with the honey-voiced songbird, and Bangles member, to get a backstage look at what goes on behind the melody.

The Triple Door: What was the first album you purchased? Do you still have it?
Susanna Hoffs: Deja Vu, Sweet Baby James, Let it Be and Tapestry. Yes.

TD: When you're not playing music, what are you doing?
SH: Working on my tweeting skills and watching Mad Men.

TD: What was the first song you ever learned?
SH: "Hang Down Your Head, Tom Dooley" was the first song I learned on guitar.

TD: If you could play with any musician, from the past, present or future, who would it be?
SH: George Harrison

TD: Name your biggest guilty pleasure, musically?
SH: "Jive Talkin'" by the Bee Gees

TD: What was the best concert you ever attended?
SH: Patti Smith at Winterland in 1978

TD: If you could perform in any city in the world, where would you?
SH: Here, there, and everywhere

TD: What's your most embarrassing on stage experience?
SH: On one of the Bangles first tours of Europe, we played a hot, sweaty packed club in Hamburg. I got carried away by the excitement of it all, and did a crazy rock move, crashing head first into Vicki's guitar. Stunned and bleeding, I stumbled off the stage mid-song.

TD: What inspires you to play music?
SH: I love music. Always have, always will.

TD: Who is your musician crush?
SH: The Beatles

TD: Describe your sound in three words:
SH: Baroque garage pop

A lil' Q&A ~ Blanche Barrow

We interviewed outlaw, and Barrow Gang member, Blanche Barrow (from the perspective of Amber Rose Cutlip) to get an idea of what it was like being a part of one of the most short lived, but notoriously relentless gang in history. 

The Triple Door: You were in prison for 10 years, what 3 items do you wish you had with you while you were locked up?

Blanche Barrow: Actually, it was five and a half years, thank you. I wish I'd had my dog 'snowflake', my lipstick and radio.

TD: Who is your favorite musician?

BB: Bing Crosby

TD: What was your first impression of Buck Barrow?

BB: "Well, if he ain't cool as a cucumber.."

TD: If you could have a drink with any author, living or dead, who would it be and why?
BB: I'd prefer a magazine, thank you.

TD: Whiskey or Gin?
BB: Don't much care for neither, but Whiskey if I had to choose.

TD: What would you do with all the money in the state of Texas?
BB: I'd put a bible on every door step, build my Dad a big ol' house with folks to cook and clean for him, buy a nice new dress and head for vacation in Florida.

TD: What was your first impression of Bonnie and Clyde?
BB: I was a little nervous, but I immediately found Bonnie was real nice, and Clyde; what a character. They were a hoot.

TD: Share you fondest memory of your experience with the Barrow Gang:
BB: Bonnie and Clyde and Buck and me had a dance competition in a field after a picnic once. I remember out hands were sticky from eating peaches, and me and Buck won.

TD: Describe your life in three words:
BB: persevere, scratchy, believer

A lil Q & A ~ Bob Schneider

The Triple Door welcomes back to the Mainstage Bob Schneider, whose charismatic voice casually reassures you that he won't let you down; he's the real thing.  We tossed a few questions his way before his tour hit Seattle to learn more about the man who just might call you "honeypot". Here's what we found out:

The Triple Door: What was it like growing up in Munich?
Bob Schneider: I love Munich. I don't really remember much about it from when I was growing up. I guess I went to the 1972 Olympics, but I don't remember it. I do remember some of going to the University of Maryland in Munich in the 80's. That was a blast. Probably the best two years ever. Lots of partying and not much schooling.


TD: What brought you to Texas?
BS: I was going to school in El Paso and studying fine, playing in a rock band (keyboardist), and reading Spin Magazine and they kept talking about Austin in the magazine. I read about the Butthole Surfers and True Believers and it sounded like a great music scene, so I dropped out of school and moved there.


TD: Name the number 1 song listed on your iTunes' "25 Most Played" playlist?
BS: 'Monstertruck' - it's a song I wrote with my six-year-old son when he was four. I guess I play this song a lot. Who knew?


TD: When you're not playing music, what are you doing?
BS: I'm writing music or making art or taking care of my son or maybe going to see a movie. I keep pretty busy creating stuff. It mainly means I don't really have any kind of social life. It's pretty sad, really.


TD: What was the first song you ever played/sang?
BS: I think the first song I learned was "als ich in den garden kam" which is a traditional German kids' song. I think I was three or four and I used to perform this song with my sister in front of groups of drunks at my house, sometimes late in the night.


TD: If you could play with any musician, living or dead, who would it be?
BS: My favorite artist is Tom Waits, so that would be the guy.


TD: What was the best concert you ever attended?
BS: Tom Waits live at The Paramount a few years ago at SXSW. I basically cried through every song and then went crazy between songs. The energy in the room was unbelievable.


TD: If you could perform in any city in the world, where would you?
BS: Seattle


TD: What's you most embarrassing on stage experience?
BS: I was playing a show at The Belly Up in San Diego and was insisting that the crowd clap their hands. There was a girl in the front row who refused to do it and I was giving her a hard time about it. Eventually I realized that she only had one arm.
