A lil' Q&A ~ Eli West

The roots of Cahalen Morrison & Eli West are strong, their branches are shady, and the guitars, banjos, mandolins, and harmonies will carry you far off the beaten path to a lucidly familiar place under vast open skies. The Triple Door asked Eli West a few questions to get a peek at one of the personalities behind a two-man-band whose sound twists and turns in humble yet unexpected ways.

The Triple Door: What was the first song you ever played/sang?
Eli West: Slip Sliding Away - Paul Simon

TD: If you could play with any musician, living or dead, who would it be?
EW: John Hartfod, Olla Belle Reed, Woody Gutherie

TD: What was the best concert you ever attended?
EW: Hard to say...

TD: If you could perform in any city in the world, where would you?
EW: State Dept. Tour to SE Asia would be great

TD: What's your most embarrassing on stage experience?
EW: Making baseball references in front of 400 Germans

TD: What inspires you to play music?
EW: Being present in a timeless tradition

TD: What hidden talents do you have?
EW: Spreadsheets and burning vegetables

See Cahalan Morrison & Eli West with Joy Mills April 15, at 7:30 on the Mainstage!
